About the ArtistGay M. Arthur |
Born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. and raised in San Anselmo, California and Devon, Pennsylvania. Attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University where I met my husband, George Arthur. We were married April of 1966 and have resided in Hixson, Tennessee for the last 15 years. We chose to live in the Chattanooga area after traveling the country for 2 years in an RV. Before settling in Hixson we lived in Delaware, Ohio; Mt. Kisco and Peekskill, New York; Delavan, Wisconsin; Foster City, California; and Barrington, Illinois. I did not get my BFA in Painting and Drawing until 2003 after raising two children while also practicing Dental Hygiene. It was a lifelong dream to get my BFA and thoroughly enjoyed the educational process. There is always time to learn new things!! Our two children, Connie and Rex, live in San Antonio and San Diego with their spouses and family. Our three grandchildren, Leanne, Drake and Reese are in San Diego. Other interests include figurative clay sculpture, metal sculpture, traveling, gardening, golf and volunteer work for my Unity church in North Chattanooga. I intend to stay in Chattanooga for many years to come and pursue my career in painting and sculpture.
